What PSX Analyst is

A research assistant for the Pakistan Stock Exchange. You ask a question in plain English; it fetches the real numbers, writes the answer, and then checks its own answer against the numbers it fetched.

Why it exists

Most of what a Pakistani investor wants to know is already public. It is sitting in an exchange filing, a quarterly account, or a price series. It is just spread across PDFs, portals and formats that turn a simple question into an afternoon of work. “Has Lucky Cement said anything about its expansion this quarter?” is a five-minute question that should take five seconds.

PSX Analyst closes that gap. It reads the same public record you could read yourself, and answers in the language you asked in.

Where the data comes from

Everything the assistant reports traces back to a public source. It does not have private information and does not claim to.

  • Prices and trading data.Daily open, high, low, close and volume for listed scrips, plus index levels, drawn from the exchange’s published market data.
  • Company announcements and filings. The notices companies file with the exchange: results, board meetings, dividends, material information. These are indexed in full text so a question can be answered from the wording of the filing itself, with a link back to the original document.
  • Fundamentals and sector data. Reported figures and sector classification used for screening and comparison.
  • Market news. Retrieved at question time from the open web when a question is about sentiment or a recent event.

Market data may be delayed. The assistant timestamps what it shows and says so when a figure is stale. An old price presented as a current one is worse than no price at all.

How it works

The part worth understanding is that the language model is not trusted with arithmetic or with facts. The system works in three steps, and the third is the one that matters.

  • Code gathers. Your question is routed to whichever tool can answer it, whether that is a price lookup, a filings search, a screen or a portfolio calculation, and that tool goes and fetches real records.
  • The model writes. It is handed the gathered facts and asked to compose a readable answer from them. It is not asked to remember anything about the market.
  • Code audits. The draft is then checked back against the gathered facts. A number that did not come from the fetched data is rejected before you ever see it, and every citation is verified against the document it claims to cite.

This is why the assistant will sometimes tell you it could not find something instead of producing a confident paragraph. That is the design working, not failing.

Paper trading

You can keep a simulated portfolio: place orders, watch them fill against real quoted prices, and track the result over time with commission and slippage applied the way a real broker would apply them.

Nothing here places a real order. There is no broker connection, no real money, and no route by which the product could buy or sell anything on your behalf. It is a practice account and a measurement tool.

Who is behind it

PSX Analyst is built and operated by a small team working on Pakistani market infrastructure. For anything you want to ask a person about, whether that is a correction, a partnership or a question about the data, write to Ahmedtaufiq@outlook.com.

What it is not

It is not an advisor and not a broker. It does not know your circumstances, your tax position or your risk tolerance, and nothing it produces is a recommendation to buy or sell. Read the Terms for the full position, and the Privacy Policy for what happens to the questions you ask it.
